This article provides an overview of how RetailOps interacts with your sales channels. This high-level view will allow you to manage your channels and your data more effectively.
RetailOps is the system of record for your inventory. RetailOps pushes this data out to your sales channels so customers can view your products and place orders for them. RetailOps interacts with channels using five points of integration. When RetailOps is integrated with a channel, the five processes below run to send data back and forth. Not all points of integration are possible for all channels.
The Five Points of Integration
- Catalog Push
- Direction: RetailOps > Channel
- Send catalog data from RetailOps to the channel. This includes product name and brand, attributes, pricing, and product images.
- Catalog push is accomplished through the feed system.
- Inventory Push
- Direction: RetailOps > Channel
- Send data on inventory quantities from RetailOps to the channel.
- Order Import
- Direction: Channel > RetailOps
- Import customer orders from the channel into RetailOps.
- Tracking Push
- Direction: RetailOps > Channel
- Send shipment tracking info from RetailOps to the channel after shipments are fulfilled in RetailOps.
- Order Writeback
- Direction: RetailOps > Channel
- If any edits are made to the order in RetailOps, this process sends the edits back from RetailOps to the channel.
