RetailOps assigns SKU IDs by default to newly-created SKUs. However, you may also edit SKU IDs individually through the PIM if desired.
Note that you may only edit SKU IDs for SKUs that have never been in Status: Complete and are not currently in Status: Complete. Once a SKU turns to Status: Complete, the SKU passes through the feed and creates a record in the sales channel.
Directions
Before editing SKU IDs, confirm your account has the following System Config setting enabled: Allow renumbering of SKUs
-
Open the desired SKU's product family in the PIM.
-
Press the lock icon in the PIM Action Panel to unlock the product family, allowing you to edit it (if the lock icon is already greyed out, the product family is currently unlocked).
-
While holding the SHIFT key on your keyboard, click into the SKU ID. Type in the updated SKU ID as desired.
- Click out of the SKU field to save, and refresh the product page to confirm your new SKU was saved.
If your new SKU did not save, confirm that the SKU you are trying to enter does not already exist in your catalog.
