There are many reasons or scenarios you would want to move products during their life cycle, the Rapid move tool is designed to make it simple and efficient. Below are three scenarios you could use the Rapid Move tool for.
Move a container
You may want to move a nested container into another location. Like a tote from one container location to a cart or other container.
- On your handheld, go to Inventory > Rapid Move.
- Scan or [manual entry] the nested container you wish to move. (e.g. Tote T10)
- Scan the container ID of the destination location. (e.g. A01-09-01)
Move individual products from one container to another
Sometimes you will only want to move specific quantities of product from one container to another.
- On your handheld, go to Inventory > Rapid Move.
- Scan or [manual entry] the origin container. (e.g. A01-01-01)
- Scan the origin container again to move items to another container.
- Scan each product or manually enter the quantity being moved.
- Scan destination container to finalize the move. (e.g. A01-09-01)
Move Shipment Pieces into Storage or Staging
At times, there may be too many pallets or other shipment pieces flooding into your warehouse. Your team can't necessarily process them all in a timely fashion. So you need to move those pallets and pieces into a storage area or a staging area to await further processing.
- On your handheld, go to Inventory > Rapid Move.
- Scan or [manual entry] the Piece Number on the Piece Label. (e.g. Piece 90)
- Scan the container ID of the destination location. (e.g. receiving container Console1-1-1)
