The Shopify Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) Process is now integrated with RetailOps. Using this process you are able to get enable Local Pickup to be used for your Brick and Mortar stores.
Initial Configuration.
To enable BOPIS, there first needs to be some configuration to your Shopify account. You will need to enable both Shopify multi-location and multi-origin shipping as well as identify which on site inventory is going to be used in the BOPIS process.
To enable local pickup you will go into your Shopify Admin settings and navigate to the Shipping and Delivery section.
Once there you will see the local pickup article, this is where you can manage which location(s) you would like to enable BOPIS for.
Here is a link to Shopify's Help Forums to further guide you on enabling Local Pickup as well as configuration for additional preferences within the Shopify system.
The RetailOps BOPIS Process.
Great! You have configured Local Pickup for your Shopify stores, now it is time to walk you through the process using RetailOps.
Once an order has come into Shopify users can use Shopify Admin to locate specific Local Pickup orders. The user will pick the item and change the status in Shopify to "ready for pickup" which will trigger a notice for the customer that their item is ready.
Next, the customer comes into the store location and is ready to receive their purchase, the user will verify the status of the order and change it within Shopify noting that the customer has picked up the item.
Finally the user will navigate to RetailOps and adjust out the inventory using the specified reason code.
Final Note: This process is subject to change as we make updates and improvements within the RetailOps system. Eventually configuration will be built which automates this process for further ease of use.
