Product Shipping Restrictions
Several of our shipping carriers have now imposed restrictions on us that prevent certain types of goods traveling by certain shipping methods.
This can either be because of the physical attributes of the products ( Size weight etc) but also increasingly because of the contents of the products.
We now have restrictions in place with different carriers and methods because of lithium, lead acid or alkaline batteries, corrosives, liquids, explosives, pressurised containers, knives and a few other categories.
We are trying to move to a system in the warehouse where the operative doing the auditing (packing) should not have to make any decision or alterations to the methods being used ( as this seems to introduce more errors than it fixes).
I would, therefore, like the ability to use product based attributes in the Carrier Class Mapping Rules box (In System Config / Ship Services) in combination with the existing address value and weight rules to allow me to correctly map the methods allowable for goods being sent on any one shipment.

We would also benefit from this functionality. Ideally it should be flexible enough that we can define specific attributes to filter on in our ship setting rules, as we have items that are restricted from traveling by air, but we also have certain brands that do not allow us to sell their products internationally.
