Managing User Badges

I suppose this belongs here, but feel free to move it elsewhere if needed.

With the release of v2.0, I wondered what other users are doing to manage user badges. We won't be moving to 2.0 for a few weeks (at the earliest), but given the more robust support for user badges, I'm curious what other people do here.

Currently we print a badge and stick that thermal label to the back of the persons actual employee card. That doesn't hold up very well though, and requires constant replacing. I would love to have a more permanent bar code printed, but it changes with the user's password, right?
